Michael Fuerst is a retired partner and now serves as Of Counsel to the law firm of Buckley & Zopf where his areas of practice include estate planning, elder law, Medicaid, real estate, business formations and commercial transactions, municipal law and zoning. Mike has 40 years of legal experience. Prior to entering private practice he worked for New Hampshire Legal Assistance for eight years. He received a B.A. degree, cum laude, from Colgate University and a J.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University. He is a member of the Elder Law Section of the New Hampshire Bar and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and its New Hampshire Chapter. He is also a member of the New Hampshire Council of School Attorneys. He was on the Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts Committee (IOLTA) 2002-2009 and has been on the Legislative Committee of the Bar from 1985-1989, Ethics Committee 1991-1993, Fee Dispute Committee 1993-1998 and a Governor of the New Hampshire Bar Association from 1996-1998. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, as well as its past Chair. He is a board member of the Office of Public Guardian . He has served on many non-profit boards over the years, including the Community Alliance of Human Services and West Central Services. Mike has held many presentations on elder law, long-term care planning, estate planning, for members of the Bar, estate planning councils and civic groups. He is an approved attorney and agent for First American Title Insurance Company.


Mike resides with his wife in Cornish New Hampshire where he has lived for the past 40 years. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He is an avid mountain biker, road rider and back country skier. Mike currently is retired as of July 2019 and is available of counsel as needed.
